OG SK8-HI BINDING LX / SAINT ALFRED

Saint Alfred celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary and partnership with Vans Vault on another Special Make-Up project.

For the 10 Year Anniversary collection we were inspired by the idea of an utilitarian minimalism. We picked two of our favorite classic Vans silhouettes and stripped them down reveal the simplicity of the models. 

With easy, palatable color-ups and marketed to be utilitarian/consumable/wearable/and issued, these are shoes that are meant to be worn.

The Saint Alfred brand has an "Old World" feel built upon the classics and applies new technology to it's products to make them better. The construction of the shoes has this consideration and reveals a functional materials story.

The Sk8-Hi's are made with functional Ventile uppers with gusseted seams - making them water-resistant. We subtracted the ankle padding opting for the Decon version; a slimmed down high-profile. Ventile branding can be found on the reverse side of the tongue with a Ventile woven label.

The Old Skool is composed of the same resin cotton canvas upper that we utilized for our Chukka and has the tongue gusset, also making them relatively water-repellent.

Branding is kept simple with Vans/Saint Alfred Stacked Logo woven labels on the reverse side of the tongue Sk8-Hi Decon. Saint Alfred's Stacked Logo branding can also be found on all of the footbed inserts. We added a morse code print (reads Saint Alfred 773) to the mid-sole for an added detail. The Vans "Stripe" is removed, but implied through tonal stitching. The heel bumper logo has been blacked out to emphasize the lack of branding.

Each shoe box is hand numbered. Included with the shoe will be a simple natural cotton shoe bag and second pair of natural cotton laces.
